IDGÕs InfoWorld Connects International Technology Vendors with U.S. Channel Partners
Exclusive Media Sponsor of NetWorld+Interop's International Channel Exchange Reception
May 6, 2004 -- San Francisco, CA -- InfoWorld today announced its participation as an exclusive media sponsor of the International Channel Exchange Reception at NetWorld+Interop Las Vegas 2004. The event will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the Gigabit Lounge, Booth 1055, from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Tuesday, May 11. The event provides an exclusive opportunity for U.S. VARs, solution providers, integrators, and business/technology consultants to meet face-to-face with international technology vendors looking for U.S. channel partners. As a media sponsor of this event, InfoWorld aims to facilitate opportunities for international companies to build their channel strategies and ultimately connect with InfoWorld's audience: senior technology buyers at end-user companies that need to "Get Technology Right."
"InfoWorld's end-user audience is the ultimate beneficiary of this initiative. As innovation moves off-shore, consideration for products is broader than it has ever been. In order for technology buyers to make a decision to evaluate and select a product, they need to know about it first," said Paul Calento, InfoWorld's Vice President of Marketing. "InfoWorld's sponsorship of the International Channel Exchange Reception is part of a strategic initiative to help end-user companies get access to best-of-breed products, whether they come from international companies or emerging U.S. start-ups. Look for InfoWorld to continue to outreach to new vendors and the channel to meet our readers' needs."
Sponsorship of the International Channel Exchange Reception is the second component of InfoWorld's initiative to expand awareness of international and emerging companies to InfoWorld's constituency. In April, InfoWorld sponsored an event with IBDNetwork, a membership-driven networking organization, to discuss opportunities for start-ups in the identity management sector. The goal to these initiatives is additional customer choice.
InfoWorld's sharp focus on the evaluation and selection of information technologies has driven high levels of reader interaction, as well as advertiser demand to connect with this influential audience. In a recent study conducted by InfoWorld Media Group, 94% of InfoWorldÕs audience made a decision that led to a specific purchase and 86% decided that specific brands not be purchased.
