InfoWorld's First SOA Executive Forum Event in Silicon Valley Completely Sold Out
Strong Market Demand for Increased Education About Service-Oriented Architecture Unites Both Vendor and User Communities

May 4, 2005 -- San Francisco, CA -- InfoWorld, the leading provider of comprehensive technology intelligence, today announced the first SOA Executive Forum to be held on May 5 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, CA is sold out. Pre-registration is now closed, and all vendor sponsorships are reserved. A second SOA Executive Forum event takes place on May 17 at Le Parker Meridien Hotel in New York. The event series is designed for senior technology and business decision-makers who focus on the corporate value of evaluating and implementing service-oriented architecture (SOA).

Incredibly strong response from attendees and vendors validates recent research identifying key benefits of service-oriented architecture. According to a recent InfoWorld survey on service-oriented architecture, technology and business professionals identify SOA as a solution for addressing key technology and business challenges. Respondents identified the following critical IT and business issues that SOA can improve:

Technology:
More flexible architecture (63%)
Integration with existing applications (59%)
Data integration (58%)
Business process implementation (47%)
Enterprise portal initiatives (45%)

Business:
More effective integration with business partners (59%)
Customer service initiatives (53%)
Employee self service (46%)
Streamlined supply chain (35%)

"SOA executive forum emphasizes the expertise and wisdom of SOA practitioners," said Steve Fox, InfoWorld's editor-in-chief. "The SOA Executive Forum series is a peer-to-peer conference, where the peers are a dream team of IT pros with the richest assortment of SOA war stories and technical chops you'll find anywhere."

About SOA Executive Forum
InfoWorld's SOA Executive Forum events provide an arena for peers and industry experts to come together and develop informed strategies that ensure successful SOA implementations. The SOA model represents the biggest change in enterprise IT since the Internet. When applications are treated as services, a transformation in technical approach, IT workflow, and business planning is required.

A winning SOA strategy, resulting in cost savings and a highly flexible application infrastructure, hinges on reliable information from leading technologists and early adopters who have already begun to reap the benefits. Additional information is available at www.soaexecutiveforum.com.

BEA Systems is the cornerstone sponsor of the event. Computer Sciences Corporation and HP are platinum sponsors. Gold-level sponsors include Dante Consulting, Plumtree Software, SOA Software, and Sonic Software.
